Christine Beard

“With a career that has brought her everywhere from Virginia (The Inn at Little Washington) to DC (The Fairmont) to Los Angeles (Bouchon, Michael Mina & Wolfgang Puck), Christine Beard has returned to Calgary to teach where she we once a student at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Her travels around Canada and the U.S. have assisted in developing a knowledge and a passion for breads, viennoiserie, chocolate and plated desserts, which she in turn has brought to the classroom. No stranger to competition, Christine is constantly challenging her abilities, most recently at the Canada National World Chocolate Masters selections.

When not in the classroom, she can be found in kitchens around the city collaborating with local chefs and fostering the community culinary spirit.”
